Illness and Injuries, Medical Insurance

In case of illness or injury / Medical checkups / To maintain your health

In case of illness or injury

Large hospitals usually accept outpatients only during the morning on weekdays, while smaller hospitals and clinics receive outpatients in the morning and afternoon. It will be helpful if you have your family doctor in your neighborhood. Find clinics and hospitals in your neighborhood through your neighbors or friends. It is expected that non-Japanese speakers will have difficulty in communicating with a doctor, although they have to explain what pains or symptoms they have and receive medical explanations from the doctor. Sufficient communication is essential for proper medical treatment. It is recommended that you be accompanied by someone who can speak Japanese. Be sure to bring your health insurance card when receiving medical treatment.
