Medical expense allowance

1. For those 75 years of age or over
Eligibility: Age 75 or over (born on or before Sep. 30, 1932), or 65 or over with certain authorized conditions such as "being bed-ridden." In either case, it is necessary that the person is covered by public medical insurance. (No income requirements apply.)

2. For those 65 years of age or over
Eligibility: Himeji city residents aged 65 to 69 (excluding those who are covered by the Health and Medical Service Law) with public medical insurance (income requirements apply.)

3. For infants or single-parent households
Eligibility: Pre-school age children, single parents and their children and orphans who are covered by public medical insurance (income requirements apply.)

4. For the disabled
Eligibility: the severely handicapped (holders of Grade 1 or 2 ID booklet for disabled, Roiku Techo (Grade-A Therapy Card), or Grade 1 ID booklet for mentally disabled) who are covered by the public medical insurance (income requirements apply.)
